FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Pacific University hosted their Pacific Preview meet on Saturday at Hanson Stadium. With spectacular weather for early March, the meet was very competitive and the Boxers were impressive at home.
10 Boxers achieved new qualifying marks for the Northwest Conference Championships with nine finishing in the top five.
Josh Huffman (Puyallup, Wash.) won the shot put (14.65m [48-0.75]) and
Megan Eberhardt (Gig Harbor, Wash.) won the 400 (61.30).
Riley Stewart (Forest Grove, Ore.) was second in the 800 in 1:59.02.
Kolby Nikolaisen (Sumner, Wash.) tied for third in the pole vault at 4.25m (13-11.25).
Garrett Stewart (Forest Grove, Ore.) was fourth in the 400 in 51.80.
Kyle Eisenbeis (Bothell, Wash.) was fourth in the steeplechase in 10:20.00.
Dylan Knostman (Fortuna, Calif.) was fourth in the javelin (53.65m [176-0]).
Emily DeYoung (McMinnville, Ore.) was fourth in the shot put (11.17m [36-7.75m]).
Garrett Price (Medford, Ore.) was fifth in the 100 in 11.15.
Candice Nkoy (Salt Lake City, Utah) qualified in the 400 hurdles (71.48).
Pacific went 1-2-3 in the men's discus with Huffman winning (45.68m (149-10),
Jacob DuVall (Moses Lake, Wash.) finishing second (42.45m (139-3) and
Chase Patterson (Burns, Ore.) finishing third (41.76m [137-0]). Additional top five performances for the men included
Keegan Jones (Beaverton, Ore.), second in the triple jump (12.46m [40-10.5]),
Jack Burnham (Mount Angel, Wash.) third in the shot put (13.00m [42-8]),
Jason Draper (Novato, Calif.) third in the hammer (46.34m [152-0]), DuVall, fourth in the shot put (12.83m [42-1.25]),
Brian King (Los Angeles, Calif.), fifth in the hammer (44.68m [146-7]),
Naom Bass (San Diego, Calif.), fifth in the long jump at 6.28m (20-7.25) and
Gaige Felix (Cheney, Wash.), fifth in the triple jump (12.10m [39-8.5]). The men's 4x100 team of

Karen Du (Santa Clarita, Calif.) won the shot put (12.40m [40-8.25] and discus (39.01m [128-0]).
Dianna Church (Bothell, Wash.) won the hammer (43.27m [141-11]). The women won both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays with teams of Eberhardt-

Six new Boxer top 10 marks were recorded at the meet. Close's pole vault mark is third, the women's 4x400 is fourth, Bornstein's javelin mark is sixth and the women's 4x100 is seventh. Knostman's javelin mark is seventh and Huffman's shot mark is eighth.
Pacific will compete again this coming weekend at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open. The javelin and hammer throws will take place on Friday afternoon at Clackamas CC with the rest of the events at Lewis & Clark College on Saturday.
