Sproul qualifies for NCAA Track & Field Championships

GENEVA, Ohio - The NCAA announced the fields for the Division III Track & Field Championships on Saturday and Emily Sproul (Salem, Ore.) will be competing in the javelin throw.  This will be the third straight year Sproul has qualified for the national meet.  Last season, she threw a then personal best of 42.27m (138-8) to finish in seventh place and earn All-American honors.  This season, Sproul improved her personal best to 43.34m (142-2) while winning the Northwest Conference title.  Her mark is currently ranked ninth nationally.
The NCAA Championships will take place next Thursday-Saturday, May 25-27 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.  The javelin competition will take place on Thursday, May 25 at 3:00 pm EDT.
