For the fifth time in six years, Pacific football has landed double figure players on the all-Northwest Conference team. Conference officials announced on Monday that 10 Boxers had received recognition for their efforts in 2017.
 
Headlining the list are three members of the Pacific offense, who were selected first team including running back Brandon Boyd (Gilroy, Calif.), wide receiver Kobe Williams (Las Vegas, Nev.) and offensive lineman Tyler Kailiuli (Roseburg, Ore.).
 
Boyd had one of the best seasons for a Pacific ball carrier in 2017, rushing 169 times for 1,039 yards and nine touchdowns. He became the first Boxer to rush for over 1,000 yards since Mike Connor in 1984. His nine rushing touchdowns are the most since a 9-touchdown season in 1988. Boyd had six 100-yard games and four multiple touchdown games.  He also caught 13 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown.

Williams caught 48 passes for 517 yards and two touchdowns en route to his second-straight first team all-conference honor. His 48 receptions and 517 yards led the Pacific receiving corps. His two touchdowns tied the team lead with Kevin McGee. Twice, he had double-figure receptions and over 100 yards receiving in wins over Willamette and Pacific Lutheran.
 
An anchor to all this offensive production was Kailiuli at his offensive guard position. In eight games, Pacific averaged 194.4 yards on the ground and 165.8 more through the air. The 194.4 yards per game by the Boxer offense on the ground, eclipses the 1972 record of 184.6 yards per game.

Four Boxers were picked second team including running back  Michael Mackesy II (Mission Viejo, Calif.), offensive lineman Mikey Fanning (Waianae, Hawaii), defensive lineman Xavier Harvey (Sacramento, Calif.) and linebacker Ina Teofilo (Hilo, Hawaii).
 
Mackesy was a key factor in the ground game for the Boxers from his fullback position. The efforts by Boyd and the rest of Pacific ball carriers was due in part to his efforts. He found the end zone for a three-yard touchdown reception.
 
Fanning at his center position teamed up with Kailiuli for the protection that helped pave the way for the record-setting offense for the Boxers. The duo were starters in all eight games for Pacific.
 
Harvey, who earned second team all-Northwest Conference as a junior, picks up his second all-conference honor. Fighting off double team efforts throughout the season, he had 35 tackles – 6.5 for loss to lead the Boxer defense. Harvey wrapped up his career with 18 tackles for loss including 12 sacks.
 
Teofilo made 41 stops in his final season including a season-high 10 tackles against Pacific Lutheran. He recorded six tackles in three games including Dubuque, Puget Sound and Linfield.
 
Three Boxers were recognized as honorable mention selections including quarterback J.T. Greenough (Tigard, Ore.), defensive lineman Connor Shortt (The Dalles, Ore.) and defensive back Fresno Masaniai (Kapa'a, Hawaii).
