Results (PDF)SEATTLE, Wash. — Three more Pacific women's indoor records were re-written on Sunday at the Washington Indoor Open, and one was smashed to pieces.
Stephenie Spencer apparently wasn't satisfied with her previous post of 10:40.03 in the 3,000 meters, set a month ago. On Sunday at the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor facility, she clocked a new mark of 10:19.08--bashing her old listing by over 20 seconds.
That time put her right in the middle of a loaded field of mostly NCAA Division I and II athletes, along with talented post-collegians.
Two of her teammates were also doing some re-writing.
Marlee Chovich bettered her own record in the 60 meters with a time of 8.29. Her previous best was 8.38.
Marissa Smith set a Boxer best in the 400 meters, crossing the line in 1:00.99, clipping the time set earlier this year by
Breezy Brookbank (1:02.18).
Highlights on the men's side included
Garrett Price's time of 7.24 in the 60 meters, which landed him in the middle of a fast pack.
Dalton Stanley's tape crossing of 23.34 in the 200 meters put him 26th of nearly 60 runners.
The men's 4 x 400 relay team finished fifth of 12 teams with a time of 3:34.41. That group featured
Conner Pappas,
Sean Higinbotham,
Bailey Muller and Stanley.
The Washington Indoor Open was the final indoor meet of the season for the Boxers. Pacific will now begin the transition to the outdoor season. The first outdoor meet is on March 5 at Linfield.
